I do have a symmetrical room when it comes to its floor plan. And I have, and will continue to place my speakers symmetrically. I just wanted to get a second opinion. It certainly seems logical to me that any frequency excitement should be symmetrical if possible. Simply because it would create peaks and dips in predictable locations and in the case of a sweet spot might help to center the image. Plus, well behaved frequency peaks are easier to tame or control if they are symmetrical.
So in conclusion, I am sticking with setup.
