No, Wikipedia is a good EASY guess which doesn't require in-depth research, or ANY research for that matter, since it comes up near the top of many topical questions.
And, your supposition that the Encyclopedia Britannica, et al, are too hard to read (whine, whine) is total B.S. I'm not a particularly scholarly person, but even I was able to read the E.B. in my "kid" years.In my experience, Wikipedia is good at providing very basic information as a starting point for further confirmation and study, and that's all. (With "confirmation" being the operative word.) As a result, it's sometimes good, and sometimes a waste of time. Unfortunately, the searcher is often not in a position to know.
Your attempt to equate Wikipedia with long-established and known accurate sources of information is just another example of dumbing down the state of knowledge in the U.S.
