I just received my PPP back from PS Audio where it was in for repair. The symptoms of the problem was exactly the same as the poster described below. The fan would come on very loud and fast accompanied by a clicking sound. The repaired unit does seem to be working fine but I have noticed that the fan runs at a low speed all of the time...even when the unit is turned off (standby). The sound of the fan is barely discernible from my listening position and cannot be heard at all when music is playing.

Before I had the problems with the loud, high speed fan, I never heard the fan at all. It may have come on occasionally while music was playing but in the 5 years I owned it I never heard the fan at all. Why now is the fan engaged full time?
