This clicking noise you hear is the protection relay in the PPP going between the incoming line and the output of the regenerator. You can see the voltage changing on the front panel from output of the regenerator to input of the regenerator.
We have seen this problem before on some AC lines that are problematic and it can just start and can also stop on its own - which is probably why it doesn't do it when you take it to Radar.
See if they can loan you another unit to try and with any luck that will be less sensitive to the line problem. We have not figured out what exactly causes this to happen with different AC lines so we don't have a specific cure. We do know that different PPP's act differently on these problem lines.
