Hakan, the different power cords, suspension platforms and the stupid audiophile cable elevators made form the bones of the tanager pterodactyl are worthless to address the effect of the “slippery†upper MF. Be advised that I never had PPP but if (big if) the problem of the PPP’s upper MF is similar to the problem of the PP upper MF then I hardly believe that you will be able to avoid it. I have my outlook why the PP had it – I blame the symmetric powering but it is another subject. Still, even the PPP has that (let presume intrinsic) effect of pushing the slightly non-acoustical harmonics (in fact it is not only at upper region buy everywhere – get better acoustic system and you will be able to hear it) then it is hardly debatable if slightly non-acoustical harmonics are not better then the completely barbaric sound by that we so frequently have when we power out playbacks right from the walls.
I think Paul with his company, among a few others reached the point where they need to mature. The novelty that a wide public can regenerate clean power for relatively little money is gone and not they need to teach their regenerators to actually Sound Neutral. I think it would require a slightly different view, if it is even possible. I presume that the PS Audio’s feedbacked machines might be different in case they drive my class “A1†amplifiers vs. some kind of ultra-high-current A/B mastodons…
What I need in the PPP is a bypass switch, preferably with a remoter control that would allow the playback being driven from PPP be able to switch to the wall operation by juts pushing a button. In case of “good for sound electricity†(happens one a month) I would like to flick the system to the wall or PPP and I would like do not detect any difference (well, I think the PPP should be better). If the PPP is not absolutely sonically transparent while it does all it’s regeneration and cleaning duty … then it would be kind of half-ass solution, wouldn’t it be?
