Reducing output voltage on Dexa Reg

I have a 12v Dexa reg, I need 10v out. I was wondering if I can simply put three diodes in series on the output leg and reduce the voltage?

Or am I doing something bad to the pooch by wanting to do that? Suggestions appreciated.
