Why are you still worried about actual numbers? You're still believing in things that are numerically miniscule as well with connectors, and "swamped by everything else".

So let's start all over...

NAH! There's no light at the end of this tunnel when people are just going to pronounce judgments on numbers that always will end up with "you can't hear that!"

See, until you grasp the concept of small shades of barely discernable difference on the best days, a sharply tuned delta difference, and not bother with absolute amplitude and phase and distortion, all of which are proven to be high uncertainty measurements, then you will never grasp any of these ideas presented by me.

We know dBm amplitude into a 50 ohm load to just under +/-1 dB, accounting for all kinds of drift and unknowns if you go traceable to NIST, but ratio accuracy to +/-0.005 dB. That's where the important measurements are. In the deltas, not in absolutes. Your brain easily cals out absolutes by adapting, NOT the fast small deltas. And yet we often neglect to measure this on people. And we never know really what delta is perceptible to a heavily referenced hearing mind. We keep thinking we know the thresholds, but it never is fully understood. It's too damn complicated. And then we study with quick ABX tests and say "that's science, see, you can't hear that."

The end.
