The audible/measurable differences between factory stock knobs and high-priced after-market knobs of exotic hardwood vs. machined brass vs. aluminum vs. etc. When I replaced my stock knobs with cryogenically treated ebony ones, the improvement was jaw-dropping: veils lifted, backgrounds became blacker, and all the other audiophile cliches. Even my neighbor's granny heard the difference, from across the street!
