when I had a Eastern Electric MiniMax pre-amp I found the bright blue LED to be a pain in the arse.
Worst still was that the little thing spent most of its time on no more than two feet (sometimes on one!) as it was no match for the chunky power cord and interconnects!
Still... pretty darn good little pre with the right set of tubes... LED and size had nothing to do with moving on, just wanted to move up to even better sound.
Everything matters, don't forget to tweak your placebos!
