"Hide the identity" is just my way of saying the listener doesn't know which component is playing when he is making a sound quality judgement about that component. I've participated in several ABX "tests" with a local audio club and do understand first-hand how they work. Whether a component is hidden by a black curtain using a single-blind methodology ... or by the use of the ABX Comparator's random selection circuit doesn't matter much to me. I personally prefer to hide the identity of a component by removing my eyeglasses when I listen.
