Re: whatever we perceive must be real

Everyone who listens to the Shepard tone or experiences the Franssen effect will immediately notice that not in every case what we perceive is real, far from that.

As you said, there's stuff which affects the sound waves arriving at our ears and there's stuff that affects our perception, weed and single malt belonging to the latter group, as are possibly most of the tweaks. IF a tweak alters the sound waves in one way or another, I'm sure it can be measured.

May has not replied to your post so I suppose that one can safely conclude that you've got it right.
