I just finished reading an article about Alcatel-Lucent having won a $1.52 billion lawsuit against MS. Besides the huge monetary award, another item in the article caught my eye. Here's the quote:" But wait, there's still more muddle.
One of the men named on the Bell Labs patent is James Johnston, an audio engineer and former speech processing researcher at the one-time unit of AT&T.It then links to this article, which provides some additional information.
Now I have no knowledge of this stuff, but I think it's interesting to see a former AA personality mentioned in connection with a case in which there are some serious big bucks involved.
