JC - There is really nothing super special about these resistors measurement-wise, they don't cost too much, OEM, just five or ten cents in quantity. They were hard to read in value, because they had colored stripes rather than printed values, but they tend to sound very good, especially at their price point, and are still used in some of the best and most exotic audio equipment, even today.So was it sheer luck, or design genius?
JC - This is but one example, of how real audio designers chose components, and this is the sort of thing that should be discussed on this website, rather than what is usually offered.
Real audio designers? Sounds more like what real Alchemists would use procedurally.
