He published measurement/test results on his website to explain how certain drivers were chosen for his Orions.The fact that someone he knows has somewhat better hearing for a particular distortion is a non-story and does not lead to any meaningful conclusions.
There are always people who can easily hear something that is difficult or impossible for you to hear.
There are also people who imagine hearing something that nobody can really hear. More common with electronics and wires than with speakers, but still common.
