The takeaway is..

not that either Obj or Subj is absolutely correct, but that science (obj) seeks to explain subj phenomena. An Obj that rejects another's perception without strong evidence is a fool; a Subj that rejects science is equally a fool.

Dr. Linkwitz is taking the scientific (obj) approach when he seeks to expand the science that explains phenomena, and accepts that his experience is not the only valid source of perception.

Too often science becomes religion. This occurs when a scientist (or Obj) becomes convinced that the current model is Truth rather than simply the best current model available, always subject to revision.
