Todd, I'm sorry, but I think that understanding the equations is important to more deeply understand the component. I thought that was what I went to college for. I don't teach high school, because I don't have to patience to teach you or anyone else the basics that you should have learned on your own. Learn them first, and then we can talk.

For everyone else, the reason that I mentioned the differential equation describing the direct radiator loudspeaker, was because it is a classic differential equation that can give real insights as to why a Manger speaker is different from a classic direct radiator, and how horn loading can change the cone motion of a loudspeaker. I find this interesting and important, but it also separates the 'men from the boys' in this discussion.
