Hi.For indoor non-anechoic acoutical measurement, pink noise or white noise which are blended no. of pure since waves, are used as pure sinewaves will only generate standing waves & mess up the measurement. My signal sources are pink & white noises.
Hearing is NOT feeling. I hear the subsonics as I can 'see' which direction it comes from. Feeling normally does NOT get any subjective directionaltiy. You will sense it is there, all over the place.
Let me give an everyday example. My office building is within sight
distance of a cargo train loading/unloading depot. Everytime the cargo train stops over, I know as I can sense or detect the pretty strong 2~3Hz subsonic vibration overall the building. I can even count the frequency of it, being so low. This is sensing, not direct hearing as I can't detect which diretion is the subsonic source. The vibration is there, everywhere.I mean I can hear the 20~25Hz subsonic notes as I can clearly pin-point it comes from the right channel speaker.
Good listening
