Cubase vs. Nuendo

172.154.49.112

Cubase originally was a MIDI-only sequencing program, very popular in the UK & Europe, where 'cracked' (dongle-less) copies would run on an Atari Mega-4 computer without additional hardware. -The high cost of Apple computers over there made the vastly superior 'Performer' software virtually unknown.

Both are from Steinberg, but Cubase mutated into cubase audio when Digital performer was released. -Both were midi sequencers, with nonlinear audio tracks tacked on as an afterthought.

Nuendo is a ground-up audio program. It's the way to go. -No idea where you got the advice that Cubase is better for audio, I know bunches of people who work in top-drawer studio facilities who use Nuendo, and not one single person who uses Cubase for audio.
