I use the audio grade Quantegy, I believe the data grade use a more coarse structure with the particles bonded to the tape, and this will tend to wear out heads faster. I would not use three hour tape because the mylar is thinner and is prone to stretch or break and is too much of a load for that small motor in portables. Terrapin Tapes is a good source.
