Pro studio recording equipment and music production/industry.

I know. I got to church...

The current audio philosophy among so called "audio professionals" is to sell equipment not to design for best sound. I would take a high efficiency speaker designed and built in 1948 by Western Electric any day to anything being sold today. We've only been marking time more or less, design wise. Very little is new. The theatre horns built and sold by RCA, Westrex and Altec for behind movie theatre screens could be driven with one watt. You don't need kilowatts of power. Maybe for arc welders. Or maybe for grossly equalized (20db of bass boost) closed box direct radiators that bottom out and cause amps to clip trying to reproduce down to 20hz. God what crap! SHOW ME a modern speaker with over 10,000 gauss in its air gap and a voice coil wound with silver wire. They are very few! Ray Hughes

And make of you what I will,

Non-survivor.
Lord, let me die but not die out." THE LAST WOLVERINE by James Dickey
