I replaced two 0.0015uf coupling caps in a phono stage with Audio Note Copper Foil Paper-In-Oil caps. Because the caps are non-polar, I put them in with no regards to lead orientation. They sound excellent! Now, on the Audio Note web site, I see that they call these "Directional".
What gives? If the coupling caps are passing AC and blocking DC, how can it matter which way the leads are oriented, and how can the cap be "Directional"?
Thanks.
Howard
