My rmx1450 has 1/4 stereo jacks at input, balanced.
I run them with a 1/4 mono jack, so I run unbalanced. The jack just shorts the ring. I've had no issues in the last 6 years running them this way.
I would recomment gold plating on both ends to eliminate intermittants, but have run nickel plated.
