Obviously these were made for PA/Sound reinforcement. That's a pretty typical design. You can find others similar in design by Peavey and Yamaha from that era - mid to late 1970's. Gollehon was based in Michigan. I don't know this for a fact, but I always had the impression that some ex-ElectroVoice employees started that company.
