I have been considering three different Eminence drivers for use in a dipole cabinet configuration. All three simulate well but I have concerns about driver noise at low frequencies. In dipole designs driver noise is a larger concern than when drivers are mounted into cabinets. The standard test for a driver is to run several volts at 20 - 30 Hz through the driver while holding it in your hands. In this way you can hear how much noise is generated by the driver. Things like spider noise are best dealt with through venting. Since none of these drivers have vented spiders and since I have no hands on experience I thought I would ask here.
The drivers of interest are the Bets 15A, Delta 15 LFA and the Kilomax Pro 18 A. Any comments would be most welcome. Thanks and regards Moray James.
