I've never heard a comparison between those two drivers, but just from reviewing their spec sheets, I'd venture to say that the PD1850 would pound the JBL 2242 into submission, especially in a horn-loaded subsystem. However, JBL's compression drivers take the day compared to PD's. All just opinion!
