Wireless Lapel Mic Noise??

62.155.219.179

Hi,

I have recently started mixing sound at our church for the worship band which is mostly going fine, but I am having a problem with the wireless lapel mic for the sermon. It has a fairly loud low frequency hum that it never had in the past. The hum is present whether the transmitter pack is turned on or not. Any thoughts as to where the problem might be? Ground loop problem on the receiver part of the setup? Internal problem on the equipment? Can I limit my search to the receiver section and it's connections to the board since the problem is there even with the transmitter off? FYI the mic is a Carvin of some sort (I know it's not very good, but it is what we have for now).

Thanks,
Loren Jones
