the cheaper sony stuff is crap nowadays, it's a shame 'cause even the old budget stuff used to be well made.stear clear of new technics stuff too- every single peice of technics gear i've owned or worked with has failed after a short period.
i'd go with denon, pioneer and yamaha for budget gear.
