dead SS workhorses... where to fix?

Pro studio recording equipment and music production/industry.

ok, a crest vs900, and a crown ce2000. both exhibit steady clip on power up with no input/no load. neither is under warranty. i live in rhode island. i have no schematics for the units, otherwise i'd dig in and diy.
would rather not ship back to factory, due to quite substantial weight, but will do it if i have to.
any advice appreciated!
