Re: PA amp with home source?

You can feed the signal into the 1-Volt screw and ground (connect the center wire to the 1-Volt screw and the shield to the ground). You will need to set the volume output from XM satellite receiver to match your existing input signal. Don't connect to the balanced input (unless your XM satellite receiver has balanced outputs, which I doubt). Balanced interconnects are for situations where you need to run low level signals long distance (more than 30 feet or so), they do a much better job of dealing with hum and interference, but only pro and high end audio gear has them.

Sounds like you have a 70 Volt distributed speaker system, thats good for how I imagine you are using this system. By the way, those are not normal home or PC speakers. They have a 70 volt transformer inside them to step the 70 Volt audio back down to the normal speaker signal levels. This system is so you can run speaker cables a long distance without losing too much signal in the process. This kind of system is normally used where you need to connect a lot of small speakers located over a large area to a single amp.
