RE: Peavy PV 2600 or IP3000 for home use

If they're fan-cooled, that may be an issue. I've used a PV-8.5C which has a two-speed fan and found the fan noise was tolerable at low speed. In hot weather, or with particularly loud music or action movies it would rev up to full speed periodically. That was as a subwoofer amp.

It could be worth looking at the cheap Behringer A500; some people have said nice things about it. And the discontinued Yorkville CR5 or SR300, which are also fanless.
