RE: 300 watt RMS speakers with 600 watt amp?

143.236.92.53

Ok here is what Im pretty sure happened

The pop and hum you are hearing was one of the BEH1200 channels went
bad and was sending the rail voltage or what they call DC voltage
When you apply such a large amount of DC voltage it pushes the woofer
out all the way and destroys the voice coil of the loudspeaker
When the amp goes DC you will hear humming come out of the tweeters
and they will not blow because there is a series capacitor that prevents
the DC from taking out the tweeters as well...but you will hear the hum
out of the tweeters

My guess is the second amp is ok and the woofer/s are toast on the original cabinet

Also, the wattage rating is just fine for the amp speaker combination
