RE: Problem with HHB 850 CD recorder

Hi Richard,
sounds like your unit is toast. I don't have the HHB, but do have serveral pioneer units, which the HHB is based off of. Pioneer uses their own Drive, while Tascam and others use a TDK IDE computer CD read/write drive.

Only option maybe to buy a used pioneer, pull the drive assy out and install it in the HHB. I know I wore out the drive on my Tascam, and it was 120 dollars to have them install a new drive. I would think HHB may do the same, but on the flip side, maybe you can pick up a used HHB off ebay for less.
