The tascam DV-RA1000HD can be used as a CD player but not as a SACD player. This deck is mainly intended to do hi res 2 track recording, in 24/192 or raw DSD formats. It can be used for a CD player, but its best features will not be put to use. the converters are good, but the Apogee Rosetta 200 will edge it out.
