JBL is like everyone else. They are building for a market and price point. The SR series was released in 89 or so as a higher end MI store line. The very crappy MR series was just below it, and the fiberglass covered Concert series right above it. The SRs were not bad boxes when they were biamped and processed actively. They have well built cabinets for the money.
If it soundsg ood to you, and you are not experiencing comb filtering, then who cares what anyone else thinks?
