First, the pictures are of an SDL-5, the model previous to the Basstech 7.
The slight squeaking is normal, it is brushes and bearings. Sometimes a high tech teflon lube can be used on the bearings in the motor and on the bearing block(where the large drive shaft/pulley is). Don't use too much.
Also, use a pressurized air line with spritzer nozzle to blow out the motor and fan blower of dust and other crud. Check the brushes, hopefully they're 3/8" or longer. Make sure the belts and shafts are clean and degreased.
There is a toothed belt between the motor pulley and jackshaft pulley, and the tension on this can be adjusted by the two bolts that mount the jackshaft/bearing block assembly to the motor plate. Don't make the toothed belt super tight, there should be some ability to deflect it when squeezed with two fingers.
Hope that helps.
Best regards,
John
