RE: AKG condenser worse than Audix dynamic?

I would suggest maybe checking the the phantom voltage out of the EMU. Or check if the AKG sounds better thru a regular mixer. I use the i5 and it sounds good but nothing like even my cheapest condenser mics (mxls)detailwise.
