I have some older Event 20/20 Passive monitors.
They sound fine when near a wall.
However, out into the room on stands, I find the bass lacking a bit.
Yes, I have subwoofers, but there is still a thinning out of the lower part of the male voice and upper bass.
I was just thinking that MAYBE this ported design was deliberately tuned to be flat when near a wall.
If so, could I just shorten up the port tube to get more mid bass.
If so, how much might one shorten the port tube ?
The port tube is cardboard, easily cut.
Any ideas ?
