A lot of money can be saved by buying pro gear for a variety of reasons ( longer product lifespans,
substantially lower per-unit-profits, lack of 'bling'etc ) just a bit surprised that you went from planars to pa speakers! I would have thought some nice active studio monitors like Quested, Genelec, PMC or even ATC may be even more enjoyable.
If you want to get rid of your audiophile phono pre get an EMT professional broadcast TT. They come with their own pre amp and put out on xlrs. Best decks (and pre's) ever made. With age they've become almost affordable, about £1200 ($2300) here in the UK. New they cost about as much as a small family home...
