RE: Good to know....question

I'm with Christine here.

Using a 1.6G Atom on my Windows Home Server as source to my Squeezebox/Transporter system with absolutely no skips or issues downconverting from 24/192 to 24/96 or 24/48.

This should be a much more processor intensive 3-step process than just playing FLAC: 24/192 decode --> SOX to downsample --> Encode back to FLAC; all in realtime.

In daily usage, it's obvious that the Atom is a slow machine but for single primary task of audio processing like above without big demands like complex plugins, it's not an issue IMO. Maybe what people describe with FLAC vs. AIFF/WAV is due to the soundcard/chipset being affected by RFI from the processor doing its thing... If this is the case, that's pretty poor design!
