There's a review of an Intel motherboard based on the new Atom processor at the link below.
It's fanless and has a PCI slot so it might interest the likes of the cMP^2/Juli@ crowd. As it needs only a 12-volt supply, all-linear powering would be easy to implement (though, obviously, it has DC to DC conversion on-board).
Curiously, at up to 30 watts, total power consumption is little, if any, lower than the current cMP "must have", a heavily-tweaked Gigabyte/E7200 motherboard, and twice or three times that of the Fit-PC2.
While it's unlikely to be worth swapping the likes of a Gigabyte for the Intel product, it (and its successors) could well interest folk looking for a dedicated PC-audio box for the first time.
