Somehow my cplay is stuck on 'repeating', and have yet to find what button i have pushed that I should not have.

In cPlay's settings you need to select playback mode - default is Repeat. Other options: Stop, Exit & Random.
Also the remote control using the mouse does not work, how do I turn it on?

Under Process Explorer or Task Manager, make sure you see process cicsRemote.exe. Also when in cPlay, make sure its the current active window for mouse actions (Volume, Next, Prev...) to be processed.
Out of curiosity, if it's a good idea to burn your discs on a seperate computer and transfer them across, then theoretically we don't need the cd drive in the unit at all? If so, why is it there?

CD drive is not needed if ripping is done on another computer - recommended. On my second cMP, I prefer having the CD drive to rip directly to disk.

You need to post the cue sheet details as well as what cPlay is saying. It could be a bug in cPlay.
