For best results, use the custom built computer as recommended. Laptops lack flexibility when it comes to BIOS setup and one cannot manage power supply as done in cMP. These things are very important for best sound quality.

Soundcards/Analogue or Digital output

cMP will support any soundcard and assumes a transport configuration. Nothing stops you from outputting analogue from soundcard. Best analogue card would be the Lynx (based on feedback here).

I would recommend starting with a basic card like the Juli@ (with its analogue PCB removed) and outputting coax digital to your DAC. Juli@ can output 24/192k which would be ideal if DAC can support this. Juli@'s analogue DACs offer average performance whilst its digital performance is stellar!

Use cPlay 1.0b17 for audio playback.
