I thought analog out quality was your main concern.

I would ensure that this card's ASIO driver covers the SPDIF output as well. M-Audio's Revolution is an example of a "pro-sumer" card that does not.

This is somewhat of a *complicated* card to use for just SPDIF out. You may need to load different preset files for different sample rates - this card is very flexible, but the supplied mixer (patchmix DSP) requires a bit of "user intervention" I am told.

Post a new question: "What's the best SPDIF OUT for the money these days?" and you might get some additional ideas - perhaps something "as good" for SPDIF, cheaper, and a bit simpler to use.
