I started the wire route in garage using the lightning cable DAC dongle attached to a 3.5mm jack/dual RCA plug cable to the amp. Now just turn on BT and go. Can also use phone outside closet where gear is found.
While not exactly related, I use Emotiva "virtual copper" boxes for the pair of active subs in the family room HT. No cable runs across long stretches which allows better placement at room diagonals.
