My wife has a 2017 21" iMac with spinning HDD inside which is pretty old by modern computing standards. I wanted her to get a new one but she's perfectly happy with what she has for Word, Excel, and the Web.I upgraded her old iMac long ago with an external SSD which makes the entire user experience noticeably faster but it's no M4.

The iMac internal spinning HDD has been relegated to Time Machine backups
