RE: USB mouse noise

Check your grounding.

Avoid ground loops.
Spdif and ethernet usually won't isolate the ground.

You might also catch distortions through your mains power-network (backdoor).

Some cables and devices do also act as antenna. RFI/EMI can be an issue.

Using isolation or isolation devices the wrong way can make things even
worse. Been there done that (e.g. ethernet isolator)

By keeping your system (very) simple and properly arranged (e.g. starground) you eliminate numerous sources that could interfere with your audio experience.

As you know, I meanwhile run a standalone server/client and all PS, router, amp, RPi, DAC are stargrounded. That makes a somewhat clean system.
However. Ground is not ground. E.g. on the router I attached a ground right to the output metal frame. The position where you put your ground matters. You need to try this and that.

Beside that working with HID devices (such as mouse) is never a good idea on
serious audio machines. HID devices get highest processing
priority (nobody would accept a lag on mouse or keys or any other input devices). There'll be a competition between HID and realtime audio processing.
On my custom realtime kernel for the RPi I am disabling HID altogether.

Very complex systems/networks require very complex solutions
for best performance. As a rather normal user you'll have a hard time to get that managed. Even as a Pro things are not easy. Again. Keeping you system simple is the best way to avoid all kind of nasty interferences.

Good luck.
