RE: Some people have all the luck ;-)

I guess some do. However you missed the point. I was not struggling with PC audio, but with Mac audio. Maybe it was the 3rd party software, but the ones I tried, Amarra, HQplayer, and Audirvana seem to work for people. And I was able to get Linux working and using a remote.

It cracks me up when you talk about price gouging but run Roon. I think that is price gouging, but I guess people access value differently. $829 for software is kind of crazy IMHO.

All I can tell you is that the thing wouldn't boot with a windows keyboard. One site said to use a mac keyboard and one site showed some settings to make the windows keyboard work (maybe you set that up years ago?). Anyhow I just gave up.

And I have to tell you Mac has not impressed me at all. Got a buddy who is a luddite but needs to use a computer for his voice over career. He does awesome with his mac and UA interface. But one time I was over when he had to upgrade to a new mac. OMG, we spent the whole day trying to transfer everything from the old computer to the new one. It would never work and we just said screw it. He had to take it into the mac store. Never had that happen with a windows pc. But maybe I am just lucky with windows?
