RE: Need help diagnosing output problem

This isn't help per se, Myles, but it might aid you in troubleshooting the problem. The latest Windows 10 update "lost" the USB-connected NTFS-formatted external hard drive that stores music for the Intel i5-based laptop acting as my bedroom system's music server. And it can't be accessed any longer by that computer no matter what configuration, driver-reloading, or other steps I've taken to try to resolve the issue.

Other USB devices, including drives, work, so I thought the problem might be the affected drive. But it's readable on and works as intended on two other Windows 10 computers here, so the problem is peculiar to the bedrrom laptop and that drive...which "went dark" immediately following the OS update.

FWIW.
Jim
