Your "problem" is not with the Topping D90. I own one and it does its job admirably and sounds wonderful.Your "problem" is with your choice of "system components" and how they are being used. Nothing to do with the D90 DAC - at all.
If bluetooth connectivity is your "easy button" go with it, but I can tell you that even the latest whiz bang bluetooth CODEC compression schemes can't compete on audio quality vs direct DAC connections over USB, Toslink, or S/PDIF. But if your setup is mainly for streaming the news or background music, no big deal.
Bluetooth CODEC compression schemes? Huh? Yes, because bluetooth is inherently bandwidth limited, in order to get better audio quality various compression / decompression schemes are used. And regardless of what the marketing hype will have you believe, those higher resolution CODEC specs can only be achieved under the most ideal conditions.... which is rarely.
P.S. I have my Topping D90 configured to stay ON 24/7. It never turns OFF unless I turn it OFF.
