They were FREE even before Comcast put out the 'Xfinity' SSIDs accessible by any customer. [This feature can be disabled. I disabled mine]. It's a great idea though. Whenever I walk into a business that has Comcast service and the 'Xfinity' SSID, my phone connects to it automatically instead of having to learn a new SSID & password.
